In 2005, adoptive mom and cancer survior Rene Gunn launched the first Heart Gallery of Georgia. The Heart Gallery Program is an advocacy and permanency awareness program of Gift for a Child, Inc. This program is designed to raise awareness and educate communities concerning the needs of at risk and foster youth in the Southeast, especially boys and girls for whom finding forever families is more difficult:  sibling groups, special needs, minority and older children.  Professional photographers photograph foster children whose parental rights have terminated for an exhibit designed to recruit prospective adoptive families.
